The setup for the Fall show happens on the Thursday before the opening night. Most of the action happens before the 4 p.m. beginning of the dropoff time.
The volunteers showed up just after noon. We had 161 paintings in the show this year, so there were about 150 easels to put up. Plus the Small Treasures Mini Art Sale panels had to be assembled along with lights and drapes an all of that.
We began with an empty hall.
This large hall will be full of easels.
The Small Treasures Mini Art sale goes in this corner.
The rest of the easels go in this space, by the entrance.
We started by dragging the easels out of the closet.
One at a time, we set them up.
Here is the front entrance to the show.
At the same time, we are setting up in the other room.
The panels for the Small Treasures sale go on the tables in the corner.
Lots of easels now in the back room.
Also lots of easels in the front room by the stage.
After the easels are up, we arranged them into rows.
Rows and rows of easels.
The artists are showing up to check in their works.
The Small Treasures sale is hung and lit.
The easels in the back room are ready for hanging the show.
The easels in the front are ready as well.
The show will be hung tomorrow, just before the judges arrive to decide on the winners. After we got everything ready, we adjourned to the kitchen for some well-deserved pizza.
